    Assuming the van comes equipped with the cooking equipment, your list of other requirements to be budgeted for could include;

    Cooking utensils
    Food prep items - gloves, chopping boards, knives etc
    Storage containers
    Cooking oils
    Dispensing containers - polystyrene trays, wrappers and the like
    Litter bin(s)
    Ketchup dispensers

    Since most everyone likes a soft drink with their burger, you'll need stocks of Coke, Fanta, and the like, and a fridge to store them in, maybe straws or plastic cups to go with them....
  • Think location, only when you have one and permission, then think about the van! Not easy at all, I know that very very well! :-/

    I work on a small trading estate & there are 3 burger vans trading.
    One trades from a building merchant's yard, another from the side of the road (he has recently moved down the road and seen his business increase) and the 3rd is in a roadside parking space.

    If you can find a builders merchant who does not already have a burger van & negotiate a pitch fee.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

    You won't get anything half decent for that. You want something that customers will want to buy from.

    You're so right, you would not want a dive would you Suarez.

    also some locations you may want to set up a table and chairs, so you need to account for these too.
  • It's all about the name. Call your van 'Abra Kebabra' and you'll be on to a winner.
  • How about 'Burger me!' as a name?

    Serviette/napkins as well, plastic knives, forks depending on what is being served.
