Burger Van Start up

Options
Hello! This is just an idea in my head at the moment, haven't put too much thought into it, but what would be the minimum start-up costs for a small burger van? Inc stock, licensing, the van itself etc.

    For something decent :

Trailer : £7000 upwards (If you already have a towing vehicle)
All in one Van : £10,000 upwards

I'd put it at £2000 and £3000 upwards respectively, if you were to look at gumtree.

    Stock, probably £300-£500

You won't get anything half decent for that. You want something that customers will want to buy from.

And does that include insurance, licences, fuel, pitch fees, company registration (If needed), generator, equipment etc

Location is biggest thing to consider and also "rivals" who may not want you to queer their patch - do your homework before you invest any hard earned!

You haven't made it clear, but do you have any prior experience of food retailing or preparation?

Do you see yourself as selling burgers with a unique twist, gourmet burgers, if you will, or would you plan on buying the cheapest of the cheap from the cash n carry, and essentially be the same as every other burger van in the land?

OR, buy out all their stock and sell them as Horse Burgers. Sometimes people like to try something different ;)
