Cats should not be near tin foil if they swallow it it can kill them! Also cats get used to smells like lemon and things. I tried this before and my cat just eats lemon or orange if it in his way lol!! Mine are a bit weird though!! My cat loves playing with the taps and always has his head under it so its hard to stop him going on the work surface! He knows he is not aloud because as soon as i walk in the room he does a runner! I only have to click my fingers and he will jump of anything i dont want him to be on!! Naughty boy!0

Try this. Before you go to bed place baking trays (the flat kind) along the worktop, with one side slightly over the edge. When the cat jumps up he/she will dislodge the trays making a loud clatter. A couple of nights of this and they soon learn not to do it. :j0
