cheapest pay as you phone - help please
as the title says really , need a cheap payg phone for a relative , who doesn't use it much , doesn't need to be anything fancy - purely functional
Would prefer the top-ups not to run out, but to carry over to next month.
I saw a thread a while back from the orange shop , about a phone and £10 credit for £15 iirc , but can't find any mention of it on there website
Not really sure where to start as i've never boought a payg here - so any pointers or help appreciated.
TIA

Hope this help you out .thisisme  not thisone or thatone:eek:0 -
This question crops up time and time again, but obviously, prices and offers change all the time, so it's always a case of "shop around".
If you know what network you want then try going direct to their website. You say you've looked at the Orange website, but you didn't specifically state that you were looking for an Orange phone - in which case, take a look at the "general" retailers ie The Link, Carphonewarehouse, Phones4u etc.
... and of course, as "thisisme" has mentioned, don't forget to go through Quidco (or whatever cashback site you use). Most of the cashbacks are a flat rate, so they work out particularly lucrative for lower priced phones (relatively speaking) - eg Quidco offer £8 for PAYG purchases from the Virgin Mobile website, and £10 for Phones4u.
Some examples (BEFORE cashback):
Virgin Nokia 1112 direct from Virgin for £22.98 delivered, including 200 free minutes to any UK network (make sure you use the Lifestyle rewards link: http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/lifestyleLanding.do)
Virgin Motorola F3 from Phones4u for £24.95 delivered, including £10 credit:
http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_payg_tariffselector.asp?ItemKey=164685&NetKey=7&HandsetKey=164685&s=t
You might also be able to pick up something cheap instore at Asda, as they're having a clearance at the moment (but obviously, no cashback !!):
