Alton Towers - How busy on a weekday?

Hey
Going to Alton Towers on wednesday with BOGOF vouchers. In the summer queues exceed 1 hour which is rather annoying, so I dont mind paying for fast track tickets so long as they're needed.
However on a weekday during term time, what type of times should we expect to wait for rides with a normal ticket? Ive never been on a normal day before!
Thanks
P.S if any other MS'ERS wanna come, be my guest
an MSE day out haha

The park should be virtually deserted as long as there are no school trips planned on that particular day (these are mostly at the end of the summer term) If you are unfortunate to go on one of these days the queues can be rather long but still not as long as holiday time. There shouldnt be any school trips around this time of year as it is neither summer or near the end of term.

Do you have to pay extra for use of the fast track tickets?Offical MSE Fantasy League Member:beer:0 -
Aye.... i cant remember prices but for example,
£x for normal ticket
£x+10 for fast track ticket which can be used on EVERY BIG RIDE ONCE ONLY..
so fast track on oblivion, nemisis, air and flute.. once on each
I dont mind paying that if its going to make a difference[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I haven't been for a couple of years but at this time of year during mid-week it is dead so i wouldn't bother with fast track tickets. On some rides you can even stay on if there is no one else queueing.0

Past experience going weekday, in term time, is that you should not be queing for long at all. My partner and I went in Sept after the school hols 2 years ago and we didnt queue at all. Don't bother buying the fast track tickets you won't need them.0

I wont be buying shortcut tickets. I am off to AT on the 23rd may. The schools will break up at the end of that week so there should not be too many kids there. Maybe some uni students and maybe an odd school trip, but if you get in the park at 930 as soon as the gates open you will get on lots of stuff before the park gets busy. do you have a plan on where and what you are going to do? do you know the park layout. It would be worth looking at it and seeing what you want to do.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090

Well I went last summer so have a vague idea... want to go on all the big rides of course.. didn't get to go on Rita last time due to the waiting times but hey.
Just thought we'd go on all the big rides as soon as we get there, then after lunch chill and do fun things like the flute...[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

it's dead on a weekday, you won't need the shortcut passes. i think you could go back and buy them if you thought you needed them, but they display the queue times on a thingie by the entrance so you can see before you pay to get in how long the queue is.
i've seen rita with 5mins or no queue weekdays, other times it can be 2 and a half hours on a busy weekend 'bad mothers club' member 13
