Wrong Location Code on Pay by Phone Sign

I was issued a PCN by Tower Hamlets as they said I had not paid to park. When I provided a receipt for the initial appeal they said the payment was for a different parking zone. I had a photo of the sign on the post next to the parking bay which clearly shows the location code on my receipt and the sign are the same. My second appeal was also rejected even though I have clearly shown the information on the sign is incorrect. I will now have to go to ajudication to make the same point again. This is so frustrating having to spend time and money fighting this PCN when it is clearly down to the error on their sign. Has anyone else received a PCN due to incorrect location code on a pay by phone parking sign and did you fight it and win?

Make sure that you go to https://www.pepipoo.com to tie down your appeal on this, maybe this could be a case where costs can be made for yourself if or when you winWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Any chance of seeing any images? Or can you give the location so we can take a look on street view? Also, it will help if you can can/post up the PCN (wash any personal details first) and receipt.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

As well as following the excellent advice above, I would go to the local paper as they LOVE stories like this. A photo of the sign and the space with the ticket would focus the minds of those who seek to uphold such ludicrous matters.0

The Council should get into trouble for turning down appeals like this, when they are clearly wrong.
This shows that it is purely a money making scheme for the council.
(assuming that the OP has not got confused, although there is no reason to believe they have)0 -

Thanks for the replies.
I have posted a short video on You Tube under title 'Tower Hamlets Parking Scam - Beware!'
The road concerned is Crown Close E3 although there is also a sign with Sounding Alley in the same road.
My receipt clearly shows the same location code as on the sign but has the zone as A3, which is the other side of the borough.
I'll try to upload some images later, but check out the video which was taken a month after the offence and they still hadn't adjusted the sign.0 -
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Did you send the second appeal in response to a Notice To Owner ?Be happy...;)0

Yes, I also attached a short video clip of the sign post (as shown at end of You Tube clip) and photos of the signs.
My receipt had been submitted previously.
The reply I got was that I hadn't paid for that zone and the instructions are clearly stated on the signs.
I can't believe anyone even looked at my evidence and I can not get hold of anyone to talk it through with at the council.
My work colleague also parked next to me in that bay on the same day and also got fined but he decided to pay the initial reduced amount as was afraid of losing and having to pay more.0 -

Don't bother trying to talk to them on the phone. You need to stick to written (and therefore traceable) communication. I believe you can still send representations, e.g. ask them to actually view the evidence. For example, get them to explain the statement "instructions are clearly stated on the signs" where they have evidence that it is not the case.
Have you put this on Pepipoo yet, where there is lots of expertise in these things?
And don't forget to make a formal complaint to the council once this is over, citing their deliberate and cynical ignoring of their own errors in order to scam the motorist (though best not to use those words).0
