Coal Dust

What is it good for? I have about 25kg of it. People have always said to put it on the fire at night, but I've never seen the point in smothering what is left of the fire only to be greeted in the morning by a full ash pan.

Be very careful putting coal dust on any fire - it is very explosive !

There was a thread on here the other day where another poster had a load, I and an onther said to try and make briquettes from it by wetting it and making small cobbles from it, squeezing as much of the moisture out then letting them dry out, the other poster suggested using cement as a binding agent but I aint too sure on that.

ive seen videos on youtube making briquettes out of cement, sawdust and a little water to bind. Again, not so sure how safe it is, and id prefer to throw it in the bin
Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.
