PPI From Freemans Catalogue, Mum still Has Account

Options
Hi All,
I'm trying to find any information regarding PPI from Freemans Catalogue, My Mum has had the same account for around 14 yrs, with Myself ordering Large TV's, Small TV's etc etc over the years, (I personally Have not bought anything from it in last 3yrs) But Mum has, Probably the overall spend in the past may be around 6-7 Thousand pounds, It may even be more, She has statements going back to 2007 at the moment but thinks she may have even further, My Mum was the main account holder & I had 5 individual accounts on hers, Can anyone advise us if we have a chance off claiming PPI We were not told about it, A friend mentioned Mum should phone them as she has proof, Would just like Advice if available before I phone as Mums phone shy ;)
Regards
Tracy

You don't mention any reasons for complaint?

Mum Wasn't Told About Payment Protection When Making Purchases,
How will you counter the provider producing evidence that your Mum WAS told about the PPI?
Contrary to popular belief, PPI was only very very rarely added without the permission and knowledge of the customer. It's more likely your Mum has simply forgotten she signed for PPI or agreed to it via a telephone call.

I'd look for better, preferably verifiable, reasons if I were you...

I Orderd a TV for £999.00 Through my mum, I also was asked did I want Breakdown insurance to which I took out, Mum has now found statements with all Account No's & Purchases PPI is listed,
Mum never agreed too it as I made the call on behalf off her which Freemans allowed following her consent & I never agreed too it as I took the extra insurance out!
    Regards
    Tracy.

Hi I have a on going claim with Freemas since Sept 2012, best thing to do is send a letter also a FOS questionnaire they are very slow at contacting you .

I had it from 1995 - 2005 until I cancelled it , I knew I had it but never cancelled it and after reading up on PPI, I realised I didn’t even need it and it wouldn’t have covered me if I needed to claim and got added when I opened my account automatically , but no doubt they wont pay me back because before 2005 they wont have been regulated.
I do find it very strange on most of my PPI claims I have made most of them ended in 2005 all saying I cancelled it and in most cases I didn’t even know I had it.

Anyway Good luck I hope you get somewhere with your claim
