iPhone 5 with 02 4G promise

I am due for an upgrade and will be getting the iphone 5. Been with O2 for years but with the roll out of 4G I decided to see if O2 will offer this soon or time to swap to EE. Looking online I find a 4G promise from O2 and it seems like the worst ever offer and wondering if I am missing something.
As it stands the handset with O2 is unable to handle 4G so a new one would be needed. O2 promise says if I take an iPhone 5 now and when they roll out 4G I can trade in. To do this i have to pay just 75% of my remaining contract as they discount me 25%. This would mean 3 months into a 24 month contract I would have to pay 15.75 months at £36 a month totally £567 this release me and I can sign up and buy the new phone on another 24 month contract. Meaning any minutes texts data I paid for upfront to get out of my contract will be wasted and I lose £567.
Is that right? If it is thats rubbish

An iPhone 5 is already 4G capable, you won't need a new phone. Also Orange and T-Mobile provide the same rubbish 'offer' for switchers to EE.

thats the way they get you, as they know people have to have
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I am no expert, but I think you will if it's O2 4g.
  • Grumbler is correct, the frequencies that both O2 and Vodafone will be using for 4G are not compatible with the iPhone 5. The phone will work, but will only be running on 3G.
