Samsung tab2 serial

Options
Hi, I hope someone can help. I purchased a Galaxy tab2 to give as a Christmas present in early December, this was re-sold as it was an unwanted present. I purchased this is the Samsung cashback period and have the invoice and everything else needed for the claim EXCEPT the units serial number! If anyone has a tab2 10inch 3G model which has not already had the cashback claim completed perhaps can you let me know your serial? I will pay £20 via paypal on successful claim.

In that case, give the recipient of the short-lived gift a piece of your mind. ;)

It was from Amazon, checked the invoice / dispatch note and it's not on it, I also called Amazon and they say they don't keep records of serial numbers which seemed strange to me.

Hopefully someone will be along who has purchased one outside the rebate window who would like to split 30/20 :)

Why did you not follow the suggestions from TangleFoot in post #3?

    Here it is again:
    • Go into Settings on your tablet.
    • Then go to About Device (right at the bottom)
    • Then touch Status
    • You will then see the Serial Number of your device.

If a serial number from item purchased outside the rebate window . That rebate closed to purchases 31-1-12 and claims can be made 15- 60 days from date of purchase .

A serial from a unit purchased outside the purchase window and a claim made for such will be rejected .
So the get around is to find a serial from a purchase made outside that window .If that's the idea then its fraud no more and no less .
Plus you may not be aware that the claim starts 15 days after purchase that is to allow the claim to be checked against the list of valid outlets and sold and returned stock .In other words the serial is very likely to be validated .

That long post with nothing useful, I know the dates of the rebate.

I have an invoice for a tablet sold during the rebate period, I'm appealing for someone who has a valid serial to marry the 2 parts up and make a successful claim (someone who has a damage receipt, someone who has lost their receipt etc).

Hypothesis: Samsung will cross-check with place of purchase to determine whether the item to which the serial corresponds was actually sold from there at that time.

Upshot: at best, your application will (probably) be rejected. At worst, you will be in Big Trouble.
