Argyll is a truly remarkable area in which to spend time exploring the magnificent scenery and offshore islands of Scotland.0

We spent a week on Luing in September 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The island is only 7 miles long by 2 miles wide with just a 5 minute ferry trip across Cuan Sound to get there.
As I drive for a living it was great to be able to leave the car and walk or occasionally catch the Postbus which does 2 trips per day between the 3 main villages on the island. I drove less than 30 miles during the whole week, apart from 370-ish miles each way from/to home. The one and only shop/Post Office is excellent and centrally situated. For a day trip Oban is only a 20 mile ride on the regular bus service from the far side of the ferry crossing at Cuan.
Apart from Sunnybrae caravan park (link below) there are also about another 6 self-catering cottages at various locations on the island.
