Great Escapes on a Scottish Island

I've been searching the usual sites to try and find a holiday cottage on an island off the west coast of Scotland - I'm really looking for somewhere quiet, on the shore if possible and which will take a dog. I'm not too worried if it's quite remote as we have a 4x4 and can take a lot of our own food, wine etc - just looking for a week of peace - does anyone know any websites other than Welcome cottages which might be a bit more specialised?
Thanks
Thanks

No particular recommendations for a website, but I would suggest Lewis & Harris.
Having lived and worked there for a year, I can recommend the island for stunning beaches and scenery and there are many shoreline cottages available to rent on most of the cottage websites or directly.

Fancy an off-shore island that's small enough to walk around and doesn't have any cars? Don't worry, it's only a 5 minute ferry ride, and you generally get a wheelbarrow to use to carry your wine shopping up to the cottages

Can't recommend any individual entries on that list and I'm not sure which will take dogs - but Easdale Island is quite wonderful for a 'get away from it all' break:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Try Orkney - great adventure getting there before you even start enjoying the place. Don't forget to explore the wrecks of the German High Seas Fleet at the bottom of Scapa Flow - dive boats and camera boats for hire.

Airbnb is good for this type of thing.
I advertise my wee cottage on there.

Is it just the two of you? This is not on an island, but on the shores of a loch and looks amazing.

The following sites might give you some more ideas -

The scottish tourist board website is also worth a look as it now has a decent search facility

The islands are beautiful (I particularly like Mull) but there are also some stunning coastal areas that are as good if not better for beaches etc - so you might want to have a look at the area round Mallaig (Torridon and Ardnamurchan are also worth a look!)
