Hi there :)
I,m changing my mobile phone provider & can't decide between o2 & vodafone.
It looks like the reception in my area is similar for both.
There's not much to choose between calls.
Both seem to have reward schemes

Any current users of either of these to companies got any advice please?

Pay as you go or contract? I think the vodafone reward scheme is for PAYG users as far as I'm aware...so I never got to use it so don't know how good it is.

I've switched to o2 now and love priority moments :)

I use both networks although the main one I use is O2 as over the years I've found coverage overall to be the best but admit in some area's the reverse can happen.

Based on least number of complaints O2 is by far the best network out of all of them so if there is nothing to choose regards reception or price then O2 would get my vote

What do you need? There are virtual networks that use O2 or Vodafone signal and offer much better value for money without any rewards.
And what is the reason for changing your current provider?

Sorry folks, I should have said, I'm on contract and want to remain so. I'm with Tesco just now (and I've actually just realised they use O2! Duh!)
I want to leave tesco for many reasons but one of the main ones is that the reception is very poor.
My calls sound garbled -yes, even without a glass of wine, lol - and after a minute or so the call is cut off!
Bizarrely both my sons are with O2 and don't have any problems.
Any time I have a problem & need a new sim or a phone repair, I'm out of action for around 10 days which is useless as I need my phone for business.
I also can't get any 3G at work while my assistant (on orange) zips around the Internet wherever she is.
Thanks for all your comments/advice, keep them coming please, it's very helpful :)

This shows how 'good' all these coverage checkers are.The only reliable way is to get a free sim and to check yourself. And it depends a lot on the handset you use.

So, are you talking about a spare sim and/or phone? Check Ovivo that use Vodafone and give you free 100 minutes every month without topups.

iPhone 5 handset & the reason I would prefer to go with a 'bigger' company is because I need reliable coverage for business

Thats the problem I have as it's essential I have 24 hour coverage hence back up with Voda and EE just in case.
O2 over the years has certainly performed best for me when out and about and although there are certain area's where one is better than others if I just had to rely on one it would be O2

It's interesting that your sons are on O2 and don't have the problems ..... may be there is mileage in people saying the piggy back networks play second fiddle ???????

Hi silk, yes, I think you could be right. I've had problems with tesco pretty much since I started the contract but my sons have been with O2 for over a year now & get great coverage/service.

IMO, your iPhone is a more likely suspect.
Just order a free O2 sim and compare it with the Tesco sim if your iPhone is unlocked.
