Worcester bosch boiler

  • Bosch Worcester boilers are `generally` good, they also have a certain reputation in respect to diagnostic servicing, but, my boiler broke down after 3years and five months, Bosch Worcester will not accept any responsibilty for failed componants in their boilers after one year. They will however charge you send an engineer to diagnose what the problem is, they will then make every attempt to side step the problem by identifying external reason for the faults, water quality etc, they will then embark on a course which will cost you money, and save them money for selling you a dodgy and substandard product. Be aware before spending money on one of their products, check others before you commit and be aware that you will be paying out for faults which they already know will ocure after a short period of operation.

Sme of their area supervisers will also brand customers in their files as `trouble makers` setting one repairer off against another, stupid, etc.

If Bosch Worcester can side step a repair the commonest reason they will come up with for doing so is `water quality`, `which has comtaminated the system` they will then advise a customer, ( not having repared the fault) to get a power flush through the entire system, this is normally not what is requited. They can best solve most water issues causing a problem, with a boiler power flush, but the engineers will avoid doing so.

So all in all, ( NOT YET FINISHED) I have no hot water, and absolutely no help to solve the problem from BOSCH WORCESTER.

BEWARE of BOSCH WORCESTER and their empty promises, unless of course you are prepared to pay, pay and pay again for their failures

I cannot understand what all the fuss is about. WB are good boilers. Like all modern boilers they are complex. They must be fitted to the required standards and often there are a few teething problems. Why doesnt the OP simply call the installer? If he cant sort it, he will refer it on to WB who have their own people. Whats not to like?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

We had ours installed when they had a promotion on. We used a Bosch accredited installer. Result = 8 year parts and labout guarantee. Slightly more than 1 year.

Our last house we had a WB with a 3 year guarantee. Had a problem after 18 months. They turned up, replaced a part, all fixed, no hassle, no charge.

So quite a different experience to you!

  • Any one else struggling with wb?
My mother has just had one fitted, every time it was run it made people ill.
Not co or oil fumes, was no smell associated but would start with a dry mouth and escalate to nausea, disorientation and struggling to breathe. All wb wanted to do was send young engineers to re adjust the burner. The burner runs perfectly. No one can offer any explanation for what is going on. After we had to have an ambulance out we made the decision not to run the boiler again and removed it. It is now sat on the drive and my 72 year old mother is in a house with no heating or hot water.
Wb haven't exactly covered themselves in glory but have impressed upon me the fact they will need to recover their costs..
Even after being sat outside on the drive for 2 days and not run for 4, the fumes coming from the boiler still made me ill when i spent time next to it sheeting it up.
The room the boiler was in still induces headaches in my sister but after having all doors and windows open it is improving. We have been down the road of investigating what was used during installation and the environment the boiler was installed in, there have been oil fired boilers in that spot for 40 years and can see nothing to explain it.
The obvious conclusion is something used in the manufacture of the boiler isn't stable under heating.
The serial number ends in 08/15 so i guess is very recently made.
Any one else experiencing things like this?
It is a kitchen spec, condensing combi boiler.
  • Hate to help drag up an old thread but...

CO doesn't have a smell. If you suspect a gas leak call National grid 0800 111 999

Did a,WB subby install the boiler or another gas safe registered engineer do it? What have they said?
  • Thumbs up to WB from me to. Had no complaints and almost 10 yrs of flawless performance
  • You're saying that the boiler which was sat, disconnected, out on your driveway was making you unwell?

Did you refuse the visit from their engineers based on the fact they might be under the age of 30yrs?

    Seriously?

You have not used the boiler for 4 days, it's been sat on your drive for 2 days, you are still feeling ill, may I suggest it's not your boiler, it could be a neighbours boiler or something else, I'm not a lover of WB but it ain't your boiler
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
