Worcester bosch boiler

last week i had a worcester bosch boiler fitted I'd read the reviews i trusted the name of old.

today the boiler has failed, initially i thought it was a pressure drop on a new system (it had dropped).

but three attempts latter and still tripping i typed the dreaded fault word in the search engine, initially no obvious responses...

then a land slide of poor user reviews and tradesman slating the boilers including the one just fitted.

tales of persistent re-occurring faults, not covered by warrantees.

My question

if i'm will to accept reasonable costs ie time and materials to remove and reinstall, am i within my rights to demand an alternative boiler be fitted?

on the clock so to speak so any advice much appreciated

I've not had any issues with mine. Even called out WB service once or twice for issues that turned out to be a non-boiler related. 100% satisfied with their customer service and callouts.

No issues with our Worcester Bosch combi-boiler in fact it is the best one that we have ever experienced.

No doubt there are much better ones on the market, at a price of course but we are satisfied.

I had pressure drop and was a leak on system (pipes are under concrete). Absolutely nothing to do with Worcester/Bosch. My new combi boiler runs the system under pressure whereas my old back boiler system just pumped the hot water round. I actually prefer the new system as I have done away with a tank in loft and hot water tank in airing cupboard (but had to fit a small radiator to keep it warm) means less to go wrong or replace! Constant hot water a bonus too.
  • Which model? Has the installer or WB been round?

Which model? There are dozens of WB's.
You think that you are entitled to a refund just because you've now read some negative reviews after installation?
What do you think the installer is going to do with your secondhand boiler after he's removed it for a 'reasonable' cost? Offer it to his next customer? Dream on.

    Hi FEELING STUPID
My posts on Worcester Bosch (WB) are recent. I will not repeat, take a look.

I wanted to reject my boiler as not fit for purpose

The WB view from Mr RB - a Regional Manager (WB staff reading this will know who this is), was and I quote

"we have a right under European Law to manufacture defective boilers. We then have a right to return to the customers house for up to 12 times in attempts to repair our defective boilers...(and to rectify our defective attempts at repairs). We are a reasonable company and only attempt 6 visits before agreeing to replace a boiler. As you Furts have got a defective boiler, and we have not yet tried 6 attempts at repair we will not authorise a replacement boiler".

He then said "I hope never to speak to you again, in the nicest sense of course ..and to ensure this is the case the number I am calling you from is a witheld line - I will not give you a contact number for you to contact me on any further issues".

    What a nice man!

So I had a flooded room, no boiler, no heating, no hot water and WB were threatening me. I rest my case. This company has no idea of accepted customer care.

Having said all the above I would still say reject the boiler, provided it is the boiler at fault

I wish you the best of luck!

    Hi Feeling Stupid

I will be honest with you up front I work for WB and have done for 30 years.
If you are still having a problem then please contact the Tech Support dept on the link attached.
    Was your installer WB accredited?

    http://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk/homeowner/customer-service/contact-centre

I can assure you that what FURTS is saying is b*******t.
As a company we strive for 0% failure both in in-house product testing and installation.

Bosch's attitude to quality is 2nd to none and there is no way anyone associated with the company would declare we make defective products.

Sorry NowWhat? you are wrong. When Worcester Bosch staff get confrontational with customers and offer bad service you cannot expect the customer to roll over.

I stand by everything I have stated in my posts. My posts are to guide fellow mse users about the potential pitfalls in buying a Worcester Bosch boiler. It is for the mse users to decide if they are prepared to take on this risk. If they are that is fine. That is what a forum is for.

Now bear in mind I have records of the conversations that took place. If I released some of the other details...mse users would be dumbfounded.

Also bear in mind it was your Managing Director who agreed with me. He admitted all those beneath him had failed to do their job. It is an ingrained, culture with Worcester Bosch. Or "heads up the a--e" culture as a recent mse user posted.

Hence, would you like to arrange a meeting with your MD and tell him he is talking b*******t rather than directing this at me?

Or is it that you have the apathy/arrogance/aggression that I witnessed with Worcester Bosch? And you just want to illustrate this to fellow mse users?
