it can be unlocked if thats what you mean but not for free
it is illegal to unblock a phone (which means it has been barred)

My daughter has a 2 year old Samsung D500 and been used on Tesco.
She's bought an O2 genie card but when inserted and switched on a 'SP lock'
message appears.

Can anyone help ???
Do I need to enter a password, take SIM out ???

Your help is wanted to save a sulking teenager !!!!

The only free code to try for the D500 is turn on the phone with no sim card in it and enter this code

Thanks, I've tried this but it keeps saying emergency calls only and then returns to the insert SIM message.

The only other way to get a free unlock is to buy an unlocking clip off ebay then unlock it yourself (very simple) then re-sell the clip on ebay to claim the money back you paid for it.

Phone is switched on

Insert clip into phone
Wait for phone to display insert sim

Then insert sim card

Says unregistered 999 calls only

tried it with the sim card already in and without the sim card
