Debit card - received a new one, but old one is still valid

Yesterday I have received a new debit card. The date is valid from 02/13.
I still have my old debit card, and the expiry date is 02/13.
Should I continue to use my old one, and wait till February to use the new one? Or should I use the new one immediately?
Hope you can help.

It's still January (01/13)! If the new card is valid from 02/13 why would anyone expect to use it now?
As the new card is valid from 1st February and the old one valid until 28th February then either would be valid during that month.0 -

Agreed.
But once the new card has been used once, don't try using the old one again. Dispose of it securely instead.
Also if you have to confirm receipt of the new card, don't use the old one after acknowledging receipt of the new one.0 -

I always just keep using my current card until it stops working and then switch to my new card.
If your new card isn't valid until February, then obviously don't try and use it yet as we are still in January!0 -
It usually tells you in the accompanying letter. Some tell you that you should start using the new one right away.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

If your card had been replaced because it was damaged I would say use it straightaway but as this is a renewal card it won't work until 1st of February.0

I would assume this is a standard replacement card as it's been issued in advance of the embossed start date. To be safe I would use the old card for now, then once it gets to February switch and use the new one. I suspect that the new card probably would work now, but as long as the old one is still OK why take the risk? I would also hope that even once you've started to use the new card the old one will still work until its expiry date, because there is nothing invalid about it until then; however, just sticking to one card seems the most sensible option.0

Your old card wll be valid for 30 days still. But best to start using the new card once we hit Feb.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
