looking for a new desktop PC up to £800 to include screen up to 24in. Main use is internet but also playing music through I Tunes with good sound. Last PC Evesham Pentium 4 2.6 has lasted 8 years & been good. Just checking cost for repair as now has no video input & USB does not work. I guess it will not be worth fixing Any ideas of best manufacturers & spec?

For the use you quote, and base level unit with screen and speaker upgrade would do the job well, and should only rumble you for about £3-400. I'd take a look at aria.co.uk.0

video input or output? graphics and usb cards can be had for very little, if they are really faulty

£800 is a bit OTT for a internet enabled jukebox - that buys 2 well specced laptops

Just wondering if you had considered building your own pc. Much more fun and relatively simple as long as you do things logically and after researching the correct procedures, compatibility of components etc. The biggest bonus is that building your own makes it so much easier to upgrade over the next few years if you so wish.
Just floating it as an idea for you to consider....I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

How about this plus this dell 23" monitor plus this logitech subwoofer speaker set Comes to £470 although the capability is a way beyond what you really need.0

If so, this might be a good place to start.0
