Virgin Mobile - requested PAC, switched me off on refresh date!
Options
I requested my PAC earlier this month from Virgin Mobile so that I could move elsewhere once I found a new contract/deal. I have used PACs for years and understood that if you didn't use it, you continued on your contract - I am on a 30 day rolling SIM so assumed that if I didn't use my PAC I would continue as normal.
Not so. Apparently with Virgin so that they can generate the PAC they also notify some system to terminate your contract? As a result, on refresh date, my phone stopped working
.
I called back to get reconnected and was told that this was the same with all networks - having used PACs every year/other year for over 10 years, it is the first I have heard of it? Apparently on refresh it switched me to PAYG (even though this was only 2 weeks into my notice period).
I got a discount deal to switch it back on, so all is not lost, but just to warn people that VMs system seems to work differently to others so be cautious if you (like I) request your PAC to try to prompt a better deal.
