Carphone Warehouse Online Error

Ok Here Is My Dilemma

I Ordered a new contact thru carphone warehouse online filled in all the details checked fine entred my bank details date of birth blady blah

not noticed that google chrome autofilled my sons first name in as the "Contract name" but every other detail is my own lastname d.o.b. bank details ect

i recieved the phone on the 12th thought great but then noticed that the contract is under my sons name

the fact that he's 10 is a factor

so streight away i got onto orange which told me to wait 14 days to transfer the contract to my name and to contact carphone warehouse which i did .. then this is where they become bloody useless

you would think there credit check picked this up the person on the phone put me on hold 4 times spoke to her manager which was confused after explaining to god knows how many people .

i want to know what i can do becouse obviously carphone warehouse/orange are in the wrong for not doing a credit check properly

and it wasnt like i put the name in wrong on pourpose i filled it in all correctly only reason i can think is when i last ordered a pay as you go phone from cpw i done a order for a payg phone for him for his birthday months ago .

i want to know where i stand on canceling the contract or even if i should orange wont speak to me or let me have access to the account becouse of the name .. im lost and today i recieved the first bill barley 3 days after recieveing the phone..


HELP!!!!

i havent activated the sim card at all it hasnt even been opened i would of thought the contract was void due to there error

anyways any thoughts would be great

    It's up to them whether to do a credit check or not to do.

    I'd cancel the contract under the DSR (7 working days) to avoid complications, then buy a new one.

    So you are telling me they dont have todo a credit check i thought thats the whole point of it to make sure i wasnt some random person useing false details ect . and i tried the whole cancel the contract and the person from orange told me to phone cpw then cpw told me to phone orange its doing my head in . at end of the day nothing is on my credit file for a contract with orange so what do i do

    If you cancel under DSR you do this with CPW.
    Either cancel it or make sure that the details are corrected by transferring to your name or some other way.

    It's a bit rich when it was you who made the mistake in the first place, didn't check what you entered, and now, all of a sudden it's Orange's fault!

    They will change it in all probability as a contract with a 10 year old is unenforceable and invalid

    Yea may be a bit rich but it wasnt done on pourpose and when i phoned both ends they both kept palming me off to each other orange wants me to wait 14 days before they can even change the name and cpw dont want anything todo with it apart from a apology thats all i got i know the DSR so im going into orange shop then if that dont help cpw instead of talking to some random aat a call centre
