Leaving VM - How much notice to give ?

Hey All.

Have had enough with my VM package, Upload speed is shot. Whenever we call they let us know it'll be fixed in 2 weeks, and we have a good few days, then we're back to minimal upload, sluggish browsing. etc.
Anyway, have decided to make the switch to Sky - think its the 40g fibre optic + tv package.

My question is, How much notice do I need to give VM that I no longer wish to use there service, Should I phone on the day of Sky installation, as I will be using there service until then ( feb 4th )

Been with VM around 7 years, to our knowledge we're not locked into a 18/12 month minimum package, No changes have been made to our package in at least 2 years, so I don't think there's anything tying us to VM.

you need to give 30 days notice, you can phone then or letter ,letter is always better
did mine back in october ,by phone and special delivery ,yes it did cost me just over a fiver to send it, but knowing virgin it is worth it,
they keep the account open for an extra 9 day ,some thing to do with ,if you have used the phone or pay per view they say ,
and if they owe you money it will take over 35 days to get it back if your lucky,if took me 52 day for a refund
    have fun
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff

Since the VM cable service is entirely separate (Sky will provide you with a new BT-based landline), you can overlap it slightly to avoid any downtime.
Notice period is 30 days as stated above.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
