Rover 25 temperature gauge query

I would guess that they don't do a lot of K series rebuilds and to be on the safe side, your thermostat is in the scrap skip. No thermostat + chilly weather means slow warm up.0

Thanks to all. The garage do quite a lot if K series rebuilds and this is the 2nd time I've used them. Trouble is; temp gauge was taking 10-15 minutes before the cold spell when it was averaging about 11 degrees out.
We've contacted them about it but they say its normal if blowers are hot. But maybe not then? :-/0 -
Maybe the stat is faulty i have known them to fail on first use after fitment.0

Petrol cars generally warm up quite quickly. My last petrol car would be close to midway by the time i got to the roundabout for the dual carriageway.
My diesel car will be blowing warm air but not even 1/4 on the temp gauge.
It needs a fair few miles to get properly warm.
I would get the thermostat checked by a different garage.
Or check the pipe where the thermostat is. Start the car from cold. Does the waterpipe
after the thermostat warm very slowly. Or is it faily cool then a sudden rush of hot
water when the gauge rises?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
