I may be mistaken, but this isn't the first job you've went in for, that you didn't actually want. Would you not be suited to sitting down and analysing what you want and (equally, if not more importantly) what you don't want from a job?
Or do you already know and just refuse to stick to it?
Err, it's option 2. Due to a) not having finished qualifying for other job yet (nearly there now!) and b) house prices in the SE (resolution pending - latest promotion does solve this, if I can bear to hand over the amount in question and stay longer in the SE).
I have always assumed that it wouldn't be possible to make a living at what I really want to do, partly due to being told this by others... but a couple of friends are now proving it can be done so there are many possibilities

But does this "possible to make a living at what I really want to do" also intersect with "house prices in the SE"?
Or are you thinking of moving once qualified?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

It depends quite how I go about it. I could probably find a way of living outside the SE pretty rapidly, whereas staying would mean sticking with the day job for longer. I'd prefer to move, simply for flexibility and lower risk - prices here have gone up £30K since I was looking six months ago, and I'm talking about 1 bed flats, that's how bonkers it is - but I can't go to nothing, so would need a day job to go to. Unless Mr Right finally turns up and could cope with a rent free lodger

Mr Right coping with a rent-free lodger is the easy part. It would also depend on whether you could cope with not going to some kind of a day job. Which I doubt...
Also Mr Right doesn't just turn up - you're going to have to hunt him down.

Hmmm. Well I think I have some clearer ideas about where he may be, so will be working on that

It's funny Rosa, the more I read about YNAB the more I think it's for me, but I see it as something for when I've paid this debt down. It's good to read your diary and see where I could be in a few years time. Hope your weekend is going well.

Popping in for a confession... I've been naughty
I've ordered a new phone
I am utterly fed up with the current one - it's run out of space for apps, and has other issues that drive me nuts, so I was just waiting til the end of the contract. I've got a really good deal on the new one:beer: but am feeling a bit guilty as I've taken a contract again, and I had been intending to buy SIM free so that my costs were flexible. I've also realised that either I logged the date wrong or I have an extra month of overlap with the current contract, which is an extra £40 - daft of me after all that working out costs! and I will now need to insure the new one as it's worth so much more. I'll look for quotes for that tomorrow, I took out the provider one as you can't get it later but have 14 days from delivery to cancel.
I'm SO looking forward to having a good phone again, I will use it for more apps and also more photos, but it does mean that I'm still spending £40 a month for 24 months rather than going down to about £30 and able to drop further if I wanted. Not that there is any particular reason to worry, in fact less as hopefully I will be DF in the next few months.
So I thought I'd pop along here and get it off my chest - thanks, I feel better now and will just get on with enjoying it

 my expenses this week are too much
I have plenty in the account to cover it, and will get it back in a week or so, but have just realised that's money that should be staying in my account earning me interest! Still adjusting to the finer points of actually having money in the account - I was just glad not to be worrying about paying it out in the short term!
Still, the Last Card will be cleared in a fortnight so as soon as that's done, I will put expenses on there instead and clear it as soon as repaid, so it can cost the bank not me
Otherwise an NSD as only other spending was posting a gift and that has a pot already saved to cover such things.

Two weeks to go to Bank DF Day
very excited :j:rotfl:
New phone is fab and the camera is amazing - so pleased to have one again, I had stopped taking photos on the other phone as it ran out of storage space. Going to try and sort the SD card later so I can also have music again. I had forgotten how much I loved having all these things together.
Expenses have been claimed and there's an extra £50 that I'd underestimated. I also have some Plu5net cashback and a backdated pay rise due this month so hopefully there will only be about £100 to pay from my next paycheque after all. As soon as I know I will also work out a plan to pay off the car loan from family to get to Total DF.
So close! :j
