Sorry to hear about the speeding tickets Rosa, hope they don't tip you over the license limit.

vassuer - i loved hoop when I tried it, although it tore my hands something chronic and that was after 5yrs of pole conditioning! Was deff a whole new level of ouch but I did find it easier to get a lot of moves compared to pole.

Well no more speeding tickets so far, so am crossing everything and hoping that's it. The fines will make a bit of a dent in plans but that can't be helped. Car is due its MOT and service soon so the car pot will be emptied - and I've put off getting its aircon sorted as it will be £70 to investigate and they don't know how much it may be to fix.

On the bright side, I remembered that I get a pay rise next month so hopefully that's a bit extra in the pot. And, I think I've decided I need a new job. Or at least work in a new part of the organisation. I've been waiting and waiting for them to sort out something relating to my old work, and I've had enough of being cross and resentful so it's time to say their loss, move on. I have a phone call booked about a potential job to apply for tomorrow - it wouldn't be any more money but would be interesting - and a potential part time temporary promotion. And I'm going to put my leadership training stuff to use. Time to dust myself down, glam myself up a bit and get out there :D

And I'm sooooo looking forward to my holiday. Turns out another friend is back from abroad so I get to see lots of people and not have to pay for hostel :)

Vasseur, I've had no bother at all with restaurants so far, I think a lot are quite used to it now and I always ask politely so hasn't been a problem. Wahaca are brilliant as they even list what's cooked in the same fryer as gluten - and I may have to stop eating chips unless assured they're GF as think they triggered me last time. What has been a bit of a let-down is conferences and meetings, as they vary from fabulous (eg. rice or potato with salad instead of cous cous) to rubbish (eg somebody who had clearly never met GF bread before tried making a soggy tuna sandwich with it).

Have you joined Coeliac UK? It's only £20 a year and you get the food and drink directory of GF-assured foods, plus a bunch of other stuff like recommended restaurants. I put their app on my phone so I don't have to carry the paper version and can still check things in the supermarket. It's been really helpful as it's confirmed my favourite Ald1 chocolate is GF :D and it was very interesting to see that for example some branded cornflakes are actually assured GF but they don't tell you that because they'd rather market a more expensive GF version  .

My freezer is now defrosted and restocked - I feel all organised again and am eating much better lunches now I take stuff to work (quite apart from not spending extra in the shops lol).

And I do see what you mean about moneysaving getting to be fun... I was trying to explain to a friend how much I love YNAB at the weekend and was getting funny looks :rotfl:

Pole is on hold for a little while as it turns out I can continue the swimming lessons, so need to pay for those first. And a friend wants to do a bellydancing workshop so will be trying that out too :rotfl:

Interesting about the chips as I think that's what I reacted to the other week. We'd been doing the cycling thing in London and stopped at Green Park for lunch. I bought dd chicken nuggets and chips and I just had the chips and within an hour I was in agony. I could only out it down to being fried in the same fryer.

I thought you had to be diagnosed as coeliac to become a member of Coeliac UK? I already have the app but find it's not quite so comprehensive as the paper checklist (a friend lent me her daughters copy and I have it photocopied on my fridge). I tend to get my flours muddled up - a restaurant last week used spelt flour in a recipe and i couldn't find it on the app and had to google it before ordering. It's NOT GF btw....

I will join Coeliac UK at the end of the week when i get paid....

It will be interesting to check on the cereals as that's what costs me a lot atm. Also most normal cereal has barley malt extract in it and I'm sure that's one of my triggers. Good news about the ald1 chocolate :T

Good luck with the job application :)

one of my closet friends did belly dancing classes and loved it. Let us know how you get on. I'm not sure it would be my strong point.

I've heard about chips setting people who are GF off before. I don't have any gluten issues but struggle with oats and pulses - porridge fine, and Lidl oatcakes fine too - Narins or HM with just oatmeal is a whole other ballgame though, as was yellow split pea soup I made trying to be healthy.

I thought you did too, and I'm sure that's what a coeliac friend told me - or at least that it was free to join if you are diagnosed coeliac. I checked once I had my results thinking that I'd just pay the fee and it seems to have changed, it does ask if you are coeliac or joining to support eg a child, so I put down that I was diagnosed as sensitive. You can pay monthly as well, at no extra cost, so it's a whole £1.67 a month :D

The app you get as a member may have more in - you have to put in your membership number to access it and then I think you can choose to download the directory to your phone ready to use offline. Barley malt is something I've also been avoiding and it's really annoying as a lot of the meat flavour crisps have it in :( but some things seem to test as gf and show in the directory so maybe it's really small amounts.

Well in today's moneysaving news I bought a couple of books including a very interesting self development one but haven't spent anything else.

And work finally upset me so much I have spent most of the evening in tears and burnt myself on a pan handle as I was distracted and forgot the glove. Decided I've had enough, emailed boss to say I'm not well and won't be in tomorrow, and will be ringing the GP. The situation has gone on for so long and got so nonsensical, I keep hanging on for the next thing and they keep on letting me down so it's time to give myself a break, recover and sort out moving on somewhere else.
