I've had a lovely chilled weekend thank you :)

Went to a local festival both Saturday and yesterday, and have just been pootling and tidying at home today. Very relaxed.

I haven't tackled the garden yet, but I have done a bit of paperwork sorting and should have an application finished by the end of tonight. The garden just needs a bit of reshuffling which can be done in the week. Washing running and most of the place is tidy... just a little more sorting and then I will go back to FlyLady's zone cleaning.

The budget is still OK, in fact I've gone through and altered August's as I had bits left over in some areas. That's gone to cover the deposit for the conference - didn't need doing as it could have been paid next month, but I could do it painlessly now with the extra leftover money so got it out of the way. I'm still a little freaked out at having money left over so it's been allocated into the buffer fund. Oh and I did a test for ShopNSc4n so hoping to get going properly with that in the week.

Running out of chores to do so hopefully going to find myself a book or movie instead! Hope everyone has also had a good weekend.

    Hello Rosa,

You got a shop and scan invite? It's so surprising how fast those points add up. It's a real boost to the online purchasing.

Sorry I've been so quiet recently. It really is mainly due to trying to get more organised now that I'm full time and very busy at work.

Thank you for your lovely posts on my diary.

Thanks MT, I wasn't sure whether it would be worth it as the points things I have tried before have seemed very slow return. This looked like it will build up faster, so it's good to hear that it's worthwhile. I'm hoping it will cover my random Ama50n Kindle books and perhaps contribute to the gifts pot too.

I'm glad you're happy with going full time and you'll get the organising licked soon - just an adjustment phase :) . Good to hear from you.

A low spend day - posted something and bought envelopes and a file. Total spend sub £5 and it was cash so no adjustment to YNAB... I'm hoping to manage tomorrow on just cash as well so that I can get straight into September's budget without more fiddling!

I've reshuffled a few things in the garden - literally five minutes work but it looks much better for it. I have a free weekend coming up so will get some food for the plants and do some trimming. I'll also do a tiny bit of paperwork tidying and that's all the drudgery (great word DIA) I will be doing tonight :p

rosa I've don shop n scan for year and the points do add up. I, like you use mine mainly for kindle purchases. Their Amazon vouchers aren't showing online ATM but I emailed them and it's just temporary. There's some other good vouchers too if you plan ahead, and triple points at Xmas.

Actually I must scan my til receipts, keep getting told off for not doing it. Years ago your scanner was conceited to the phone line and would download automatically and you just posted off your receipts in s pre pay envelope. More costly for them in terms of admin and annoying if you needed a receipt for something else but on the whole I preferred it.

  • Life is sounding good at the moment Rosa, just imagine how nice it will be to look out of your window at a lovely garden too.

Thanks Kerri, good to know it should hopefully be worthwhile!

So far it seems straightforward - I have put the clicker next to the fridge and an envelope stuck on the side of the fridge for receipts. If I can be organised about this and just click things as I put them away it should be points for very little additional effort. I might try and have a weekly update session for sorting YNAB and sending ShopNScan all together.

After all, free books can't possibly be a bad thing :D

You're right Tink... there's just some tidying to do and then it will look fab. Will hopefully get it sorted this weekend.

Right, dashing in to announce confessions and plans...
    • Have been eating absolute carp all week which needs to change (and when I say carp, I mean a couple of evening meals consisting of crisps and almond Magnums :o). If I can get the last of the decluttering done this weekend then eating better will be my next goal. Bought a veggie spiraliser as they had one on offer in Wilk0s so can have a go with that :).
    • Finally sorted making an appointment with a pensions adviser, for next week, so will now file the paperwork. Having re-read everything I think I understand better what the options are but am still a bit freaked out at making decisions that are (hopefully) half a lifetime away _pale_. Spent too much of this evening swearing at the scanner but have finally got it to work with the new laptop, so glad that's sorted too.
    • Had a couple of nearly NSDs this week as I either took food to work or only spent cash I already had. I will update YNAB tomorrow or Sunday - am beginning to think that now I'm confident in my situation and don't feel I need to check accounts so often, I could have a weekly money review. That would free up time the rest of the week but still keep me on track.

    This weekend I intend to...
    • Tidy the garden - it really won't take long to make a difference if I just get out there and it's the last bit that needs doing.
    • Sort my paperwork cupboard - this is the last significant job that needs doing in the flat, then it's just little tidying up and maintenance jobs.
    • Do SOMETHING about the things waiting for 3bay listing. They're taking up space and making my newly tidy flat look messy, quite apart from holding money that could be in my savings :D

    I will report back...
