Virgin CC Gambling Transactions

in Credit cards
Ok, so this may be a bit of a stupid question but here goes anyway...
I won some money on an online gambling site that i transferred to my Virgin CC in 2 transactions. When i have gone on and looked they have also credited me with a £5 credit for each transaction. When i click on show details it says a "gambling transaction".
So my possible stupid question is, is there something stopping me from say crediting my online bingo account with say £10 and then withdrawing in small amounts to get this extra £5 credit?

This used to be a well known loophole in the past. I thought it was closed a long time ago.0

I practiced with a £1 transaction and it also credited my account with another £5. Thought i would ask as i don't want to get into trouble

Have I missed something here? Each time you withdraw to your virgin CC you get paid an extra fiver?!0

Yes i withdrew £1 from my bingo account, it credited my account with the £1 and also a £5 gambling transaction.

The sites are usually wise to this. They'll credit the bonus to your online account, but that amount won't be withdrawable.0

I'm not talking about bonus payments, i am talking about transferring money from my bank account and then transferring it to my CC if that makes sense.

G*la . I'm guessing if you transferred money from your CC to the bingo account it would also charge you the £5 gambling transaction

Cool, I'll have a read. Indeed I'd expect so, wonder if its unique to Virgin/MBNA cards, I closed my Virgin CC a few years ago but have an MBNA still, though ill try using Halifax Clarity first if I give it a go, zero cash fees!
EDIT: it's just clicked, this'll be a VM thing in that they're refunding the cash fee based on a refund from a gambling MCC, in the assumption you originally spend the money on their card...I assume anyway! That said, other card co's might do the same, so might be worth a try anyhow...0 -
