A workmate of mine is having bother with their Samsung Galaxy S3.
They had a phone before this (they said, but i can't remember which) & they had no signal issue whatsoever.
They got a Galaxy S3 & had issues with the signal. They were not able to send texts or calls in areas that they could do with their old phone.
They got in touch with Carphone Warehouse & got a new Galaxy S3 - but the problem persists.
They've been to CW about this who say the issue lays with Vodafone as it's all about the signal. They go to Vodafone who say it's to be taken up with CW.
And so the circle chase continues.
I said i'd ask for him - so where does he go from here as both are blaming each other?
He's had enough of this phone & Vodafone. He asked if Orange would buy out his contract. I can't see that happening myself. He wants to get rid of his Galaxy S3 i think in place for an iPhone as he's sick of the issues with the S3.
My missus had issues with her S3 with the signal (not in the same areas) & she was on o2. I believe there's a few reports of signal trouble.
Also, it's not to do with Vodafone & the area - as there's others at work on Vodafone - with smartphones too (iPhone) & they have no issue whatsoever with the signal. This would suggest it's a problem with his Galaxy S3.

each phone has different aerials and some are bette than others, some will also work indoors where othes wont alsoDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Well he's tried 2 different Galaxy S3s & neither work for him.
So what's he to do? The answer can't be just live with a £500 phone that doesn't work.
Just out of interest, my wife ran a test on our phones. *3001#12345#* on the iphone. She did a similar test on her Galaxy S3 with both phones in the same location at home & we're both on o2.
Apparently the readout was 99/100dB on BOTH her Galaxy S3 and my iPhone 4S, yet i was getting 2 bar signal & totally able to call & text, whereas she was only getting "emergency calls only" and not able to call or text.0 -

I would try a different network PAYG sim if the phone is unlocked . Worth wasting a fiver or even borrowing another persons sim .
Signal problems then its the phone no signal problems then its the network .
The user should check correct APN settings for network .
Can also try backing up data and factory resetting phone to out of the box state .
Tried two and i would then say its the network . In which case measure signal standing next to an O2 mast .
