I'd like some advice on this too please:)
No kids, just me. I used a wet wipe (not very wet) on my tv screen that had loads of marks on it, it brought it up great, so tried it on laptop with new wipe.....now there are horrible smeary marks on screen when laptop is off....BAD TIMES:( I'm sure I read/heard of someone cleaning their laptop the same way which is why I tried it on mine!0 -
I use some kitchen towel and plain water.
Make sure it is off, unplugged and no battery inserted.
Open the laptop so the screen can lay flat.
Use a piece of the towel made wet but not dripping and just work your way down the screen from left to right like cleaning a window. When you reach the bottom,go back over with a dry piece of towel.0 -
You can get something made by phillips for cleaning lcd screens, small bottle lasts years!Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.0

My son is in charge of cleaning computer screens in this house. He uses distilled water and a microfibre cloth.0

In the interests of testing... I read your post but didn't have white vinegar... Used chip shop non brewed condiment on a microfibre cloth (a few drops only on a microfibre 91p for 3 MrT cloth) and its brought it up as new
Thanks0 -

Just wanted to thank you all for your replies....
Ive now got and nice and clean laptop screen :j
I bought a cheap microfibre cleaning cloth 91p for 3 from MrT.
I used one of these with a very small amount of clear window cleaning spray i already had, i sprayed the cloth not the screen, quick wipe over and with a dry cloth dried it off completely, also left the laptop open for a few minutes just incase it wasnt completely dry...
its done the trick~ nice and clean not smears and didnt need any pressure to remove grubby finger marks.
Just to add the micro cloths do have a slightly stiffer stitching around the edge, so just to be safe i trimmed the stitches off.
Hope that helps someone else outEveryday im shufflin' Proud Padder ~ All Hail The Power of Pad0
