Sorry spacey2012 but I'm not sure I understand your last post.

Are you saying that if I push ahead with disputing it the council are likely to drop it because if I push on and win they will be forced to stop issuing tickets relating to that particular offence in that particular car park ? So it's worth just letting me off so they can continue stinging other people who just pay up without disputing the charge ?

No, because if you win it doesn't set a precedent. Each adjudication turns on its individual circumstances and whilst similar decisions can be persuasive, they are not binding on other cases.

I would say the newspaper article is telling if they haven't bothered to sort the issue out when they publicly promised they would. So use it!

Just carry on appealing once you get the NTO and go to adjudication in the end. You should win but you need to forget the bribe of the discounted penalty (as most people on pepipoo have to learn). It's usually a long game 'all or nothing' and most people on pepipoo do win in the end - as I think you will too.

Then afterwards, there's nowt to stop you contacting the paper but it doesn't force the Council to stop issuing tickets. It does publicise the matter though and help future appellants, just as that other article will help your appeal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Thanks again for all your help guys. I went back to the scene and took some more photographs which should help to show what a mess they have made of the markings. Have a gander and you'll soon see why I think they are misleading !

Again I've had to edit my post as I can't post links yet unfortunately.

When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
