Hand Cream Help

Reading with interest as my hands get so dry and rough. Have you tried exfoliating them first? periodically I use around a tablespoon of veg oil mixed with a teaspoon of sugar (approx as I don't usually measure) massage into hands quite vigorously and the pop on marigolds and leave for around 10 mins, rinse in warm water and pat dry, slather on hand cream and pop on cotton gloves until absorbed. Hands feel lovely and if you reapply cream a couple of times hands seem to absorb it much better and not be tacky. Very MSE too, I like the neutrogena which lasts ages and has no perfume.January 2020 Grocery challenge £119.45/£200

I bought this in the end as it didn't have SLS in it. I wasn't aware that they sometimes add it to hand cream but there we are.

I LOVE Aveeno's handcream (you can get it in Boots). I avoided handcream for so long because it just seemed to make my hands greasy and it would sort of sweat back out after I'd rubbed it in, but this one doesn't. It's also supposed to keep working through handwashing.

That's the dogs dangly bits for hands that need a lot of protection
Even the dermatologist at the trust I worked for recommended it, even for brickies with cement hacks
I agree, it's fantastic for dry hands!
In my experience, Soap and Glory's handcream is rubbish and must only be ok if you don't really have dry skin on your hands.0 -
Neutrogena concentrated hand cream is excellent, it was recommended to me by a consultant dermatologist about 35 years ago and I have used it ever since.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

Another vote for the Boots expert cream, its very good.
I also like the Body Shop Hemp handcream, only need a little amount.
Beware the Soap and Glory Hand Food - it starts off ok, but goes off really quickly (weeks not months ), smells rank and ends up drying your hands even more.
Eew that sounds gross, although I've never had that problem myself. I get mine very cheap via the Boots staff factory shop so it's often older than the stuff on the shelves in "proper" Boots; even then I've never noticed it going off.0 -
I would highly recommend either the bodyshop hemp hand cream or Neutrogena quick abosrb. My OH has a bit of a weird dislike of lotions and creams (not quite a phobia but not too far off!) and even he can use the neutrogena one as it sinks in so quickly!
I should point out he uses the concentrated one:

My vote would be for the Neutrogena hand cream as well. It's small, concentrated and soaks well in to the skin. My OH is an electrician and this stuff really looks after his hands.0
