Moving house - what to do with my broadband?

I currently have sky BB in my present flat, however, I am about to move house in the next few weeks. Does anyone have any idea about whether it would be better for me to simply cancel my current contract (held for 1 year - all introductory joining deals have now run out) and possibly see if they would offer me a retention deal, or whether to cancel and take a new deal with a different supplier? My new place is only rented for 6 months minimum - though it may be longer. I know if I sign up with a new company I will have to sign for 1 year and face the possiblity of incurring an early cancellation fee if I have to after 6 months. does anyone know if I stayed with sky whether I would be required to sign a new 12 month contract or whether it would just be a contuation of my current rolling contract?
Cheers folks, any and all help much appreciated.

Depends what is available at the new address-you don't say if it's on the new exchange? You don't want Sky if it's not available LLU at the new address (Sky Connect is dire). A home move is free, but will tie you into a year's contract again.
The other question is whether there is already a working landline at the new address, if not you'll have to pay for that on top.No free lunch, and no free laptop
