I got this response from the administrators today. I placed an order with e-codes the day before the website shut:

    Dear Sir / Madam,

HMV UK Limited (In Administration) (the “Company")

Further to your email, I write to confirm that after an assessment of the Company's financial position, internet orders that have been fully paid for prior to the Company entering into administration will be delivered over the next five working days. Internet orders that have not been paid for will be cancelled and a notification of this cancellation will be sent by e-mail over the next 48 hours.

Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact the e-mail address above.

    Yours faithfully

For and on behalf of the Company

    M S Watson

    For R J Harding

    Joint Administrator

The items I ordered we're out of stock though, so we'll see what happens in the next few days.

I've contacted Amex too for a response and they said they'd get back to me.

I think the above implies that the website may not come back up, otherwise, why would they cancel and refund orders?

Amex has refunded my credit card with the amount I paid for the vouchers - although they didn't contact me to tell me, I just noticed when I checked my online statement.

You contacted Amex originally though, right?
Did you call them or email?
    You have a number, address?
I don't think we will get to spend these now.
So I will speak to Amex.

    Thanks in advance

Yes I did. Call the number on the back of your card. Say you want to dispute a transaction.

Not necessarily, I'd read orders that have not been paid for as being pre-orders. Would expect that administrators don't necessarily want this business, rather take orders related to existing stock whilst negotiations for Hilco or others to takeover future business for HMV.

Did you contact them via phone? I've had a conversation via secure message with people who don't read what I've written and have issued a charge back for a legitimate transaction I made in hmv!

HMV did cancel my order (due to them having no stock). American Express have now issued a dispute against the correct transaction for the vouchers on my account.

    We'll see what happens....
