Murdered or Stabbed is devastating for me, but its still horrifies me when a company that is supposed to be a trustworthy business pulls off something like this. I know they're in debt, and of course want to provide damage control, but they should uphold their side of the bargain no-matter what.
If by any miracle they got bought up I hope whoever is next in charge gives the people's faith back in the company.0 -

That's at least partly because you clearly don't know what is going on. HMV isn't deciding whether to accept vouchers or not they're finished. An administrator, who wasn't involved in running HMV, is now responsible for what the company does. The company promised to pay suppliers for goods and sold gift vouchers to people expecting to be able to use them; the company doesn't have the assets to do both so the administrator is obligated by law to ensure the assets go to debtors in priority order. Unfortunately gift voucher holders aren't even on that priority list.
It'd take a change of the law by government to make accepting valid gift vouchers mandatory for companies in administration.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...0 -

Before ranting, perhaps try to understand the subject? That's at least partly because you clearly don't know what is going on. HMV isn't deciding whether to accept vouchers or not they're finished. An administrator, who wasn't involved in running HMV, is now responsible for what the company does.
^^^ This -as stated, it's the administrator's decision.:hello:0 -

My vouchers are e-codes and can only be used on the website. Anyone know if the website is gonna come back up tomorrow? Seems unlikely...0 -
Received a reply from amex today, saying I could not use my vouchers in HMV. This is despite me previously explaining to them in detail how I had e-vouchers that could only be used on their website(which is still down).
Have replied to them and will see what they say.0 -
enigma368, MSE have just posted an article on this:

Still no sign of their website coming back online.
Has anyone had any success with Amex regarding online gift vouchers?0 -
Amex has refunded my credit card with the amount I paid for the vouchers - although they didn't contact me to tell me, I just noticed when I checked my online statement.0
