Tesco Mobile - Unlocking Service
Options
Just to let people know how bad I've found the Tesco Mobile unlocking service.
Back in early November 2012 I called Tesco to get my phone unlocked, £20 and it will be done within 28 days.
I thought in this day and age 28 days!!! really!!!
But the girl I spoke to said they are usually done in around 5 days they just put up to 28 days for worst case scenario!
Well 28 days later no code - so I called them up to find out what was going on. After being on the phone for around 20 mins it turns out that it was never put through!!!!
So he puts it through and it will be up to 28 days again, but will probably be done before this.
Guess what! Another 28 days goes by and nothing!!! Not even a courtesy E-Mail to update me!
So once again I call there customer care team - It seems Nokia haven't got back to them so I need to send off my phone to have it done manually!!!
Well its sent off and i'm told it should be back with me inside a week. Well that week comes and goes and surprise surprise no phone.
Another call to them, they have received it and its being processed, call back at the end of the week if you've heard nothing. So today is Friday so again I call them, its still being processed but due to the snow it would likely be another week.
How an earth can a company get away with selling a service that is done within 28 days that 60 odd days later still isn't resolved!
I asked to speak to a supervisor to even see about getting the £20 refunded as a goodwill gesture being as they made a mess of it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: said the supervisor - it costs that for the man hours its taking to unlock your phone - so no!!! I went on to tell him about how badly I feel I had been treated and he hung up!!!!!!
Tesco Mobile 0/10 for service!!!!! They don't even deserve a mark as high as that they way you are treated!!!

Why don't you just buy the unlock on eBay for a fiver? Usually sent within a few hours. £20 is a ridiculous amount. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I can't find a Nokia lumia 610 unlock code online0
-
Here's one (this isn't a recommendation, I just googled it):
http://smartphoneunlockers.com/products/unlock-nokia-lumia-610/#.UP0BtehY5Xw
But you might do better to just use a local independent phone shop (not CPW etc).No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
The site above doesn't unlock Tesco network phones and also wants $59 to unlock on orange/tmobile
Both of the local independents took it off me then returned it unable to unlock it - told me would be better going to the operator0 -
Tesco runs on o2. That was just an example, there are other sites offering this. However if your local independents can't do it, then you may have to wait on Tesco. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Just google or search in ebay.
For example here is one that costs £1.95. Don't know anything about it - I just searched in ebay.

If that works for a Lumia 610 it will be the bargain of the year!
Mike
EDIT: It won't work. $50 seems about the going rate for some reason.0 -
Phoned to get an update on whats happening with the phone, still at the repair center. they will look at it and get it back to me as soon as they can....
Not holding my breath - this has only been going on since November
Congratulations Tesco on being the worst company i've ever had to deal with!!!0
