Vodafone Billing

Options
Since Sept 2011, Vodafone no longer show the total the number of minutes used in a previous bill, only number of calls, txts and data. This is a big problem if you want to keep track of your usage, and plan your next upgrade etc. I was told by a vodafone advisor to add up all the individual calls on the itemized bill. Having three phone on the contract this would take forever! Can vodafone legally omit this information from the invoice?

    Hi SeanJ63,

You can keep track of your usage throughout the month via either the My Vodafone app if you're got an iPhone, Android device or a BlackBerry. In addition, you can also do this online via My Vodafone.

With any previous bills you can run various reports through My Vodafone which will help you to obtain the information you require.

Failing this, should you contact us about your upgrade our agents will be able to check your account to establish your previous three months usage as an average.

    Thanks,

    Lee

  • Hi Lee,

The android app is great for keeping a track on my usage during the current month. But as soon as the month is over it resets and I have no record of how many minutes I have used.

There is no way to get a total of minutes used online for previous months. I have been trying to do this for over a month now with no success. The only way I have found to do this is to download a bill in csv format, open it in excel, correct the individual call durations to a format that will calculate, then add the column to get a total. Very time consuming.

You can create Excel formula for converting to numbers. What format is it?
  • Hi Grumbler,
The file it comes in is a .csv. The individual time amounts are, for example 0m 43s. I have found if I add in the hour part e.g. 1h 0m 43s I can use formula =SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(C8,"s",""),"m ",":"),"h ",":")+0 to convert the cell into 01:00:43 then format as time and column will add up.
Very long winded so if you can sugest a better way, then thanks.

If all calls are shorter than 1 hour, then you can avoid adding hours:
    =CONCATENATE("0:",SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(C8,"m ",":"),"s.",""))+0

Create a file and save it. Then, when needed, just copy and paste a column from the exported file to your file. Job done.

  • Hi Grumbler,
Thanks for reply, I tried the formula you sugested but I could not make it work. I've tried formating in different time formats, but no joy. Would you check this works on a cell with 0m 43s. Would save a lot of time if I can make your formula work.
    Thanks again, Sean.

I guess it's because of "s." in my formula instead of "s"
If there is no "." after "s" try
    =CONCATENATE("0:",SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(C8,"m ",":"),"s",""))+0
  • Hi Grumbler,
Thanks for figuring that out. All working now. A lot quicker than adding in the hours by hand. Very much appreciated.
