Michael Meacher speech on ATOS Work Capability Assessments January 17th, 2013

When I was younger and used to go to the pub with friends a couple of times a week, we used to debate everything and anything - sometimes for 3 hours. By the time we were kicked out at 11pm everything seemed to be so unimportant. We were happy to disagree. We saw life and it's problems in a different light.
Lets just finish the parliament and make a pub there shall we? There is a huge difference between people/friends talking in the pub and people who are really struggling in there lives and needing help.
If that is your solution than i think the government should talk about terrorism, europe, immigration and everything else in pubs too as well :TIf it ever got to the point where i have no money to eat. I would go to the police station and break something to get myself arrested. Atleast i would get a warm cell and food and if everyone who get SANCTIONED by the job center did that than the government would have to change there policy about sanctioning so many people on the work program.0 -

Michael Meacher should be leader of the Labour party, and the next PM
an example to the rest of the useless parasites we have now.
And would bankrupt the country within months with his attitude!0 -
And now having spent a long time bragging about how you were abusing the system you come to the sharp end where your benefits are suddenly about to be trimmed. No point arguing the issues with your MP is there, he's only there to show a hand for your constituency afterall. From your previous posts bragging about what you were 'given' I guess you can't argue the point so I understand your "It's inevitable" stance. In your case I am afraid that karma really does exist Andy.
Sorry but I don't understand a word of that!0 -
Those subjects are/were also discussed at great lengths round the bar especially Europe and Immigration!speedyturtle wrote: »Lets just finish the parliament and make a pub there shall we? Meacher will NOT make anything happen. Cameron is fixated on his 'plan'. Have you not seen the latest Conservative Party PPB?
He makes it quite clear that he is in favour of reducing taxes, encouraging low paid working etc. No where does he mention where the Welfare recipients fit into all of his thinking. His prime goal is to reduce expenditure and increase capital wealth. Expenditure includes the Welfare budget along staffing costs of the civil service, health, education and the forces.
Meacher is on a hiding to nowhere, even his 'great leader' secretly agrees with the reduction of the Welfare budget and the dismantlement of part of it.0 -
I noted that Hoban didn't even try to excuse the inhumane behaviour of Atos so hopefully he'll go away and tell Atos to begin treating sick and disabled peole with the dignity and respect they deserve and carry out WRAs properly.
Although given the uber-nastiness that this tory lead coalition is displaying towards the poorest and most vulnerable in society there's more chance of Nick Clegg growing a spine!
That would be because Hoban's been bought - it couldn't be any more obvious.0 -
Hoban took the reigns from Grayling, here for those who've never seen Grayling is a picture of his good self :

Here is a picture of Hoban, Graying and their whole team in their gyrating together [ness] :
Cosy isn't it ?, they both [Hoban & Grayling] use the ESA 'revolving door' as a statistical black hole, hiding large groups of truth in this 'CONdems politically gerrymandered region of spacetime from which nothing even light, can escape' this practice massively distorts the claims. The truth of the WCA / LiMA assessment system is that 25%+ of the 'customers' are being placed in the support group, that's more than twice the 10%+ that it was in 2010-2011, but still not good enough.
What I hear you ask is good enough ?
What is good enough for ESA / DLA or any DWP / ATOS computer engineered ‘Logic Integrated Medical Assessment' is when the successful appeal rate of any means tested benefit is within a percentage or 3 of the WCA first time outcomes.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem.
