I thought his speech was brilliant, but wasn't this just to hilight it with view to raising a full debate on the topic?

Another that lives in hope of miracles.

As I have said before, just accept that nothing will change the minds of the powers that be. To change anything will only result in taking a backward step, one that will see IB re-invented!

Oh dear, your passion for trolling is commendable. I know you feel hard done by because your feeble excuses for being on nice benefits are coming to an end but the rest of the people that are struggling rely on representation from people elected to speak on their behalf at the highest level. Nothing is inevitable if a case is made!

We elect people to speak on our behalf in government be that for retaining a local school or for retaining what is little more than a shed for the local scout group. Maybe we should all abstain from voting in future as it's clearly a futile task?

Granted, things are not good for those suffering disabilities currently (as I know they're not, even for able jobseekers) but to suggest that we all just sit back and say "Oh, ok then" is ridiculous.

    Wow, what a brilliant speech.

Yes there were only 40-odd MPs, but I'd rather some listened than none at all.
It has taken too long for this to reach parliament but let's hope this is a turning point in history.

I would have hoped that more MP's would have been interested in this, But given that 12 months ago. It was only 1-2 MP's that even new anything about this subject 40 odd MP's turning up is indeed a turning point.

This is the start of a very long road. There is no way that the Goverment or MP's are going to turn the clock back to the old IB and the plans for DLA to become the new PIP will go ahead. But what they and we can do is make the system more fair.
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j

Nothing will change as long as our MPs don't stand up and be counted. I expect now for them to have a full debate on the matter, hopefully soon. People change things with the power to vote, the more people that stand up to these clowns, the more chance we have of over ruling them. If you want to be the one that sits down and isn't counted, carry on, but I will stand up and be counted, and I'll be as loud as they come.

I am all for sending people on sickness benefits for medicals btw, and I do believe they are needed. The WCA at the moment is not fit for purpose, neither are the crowd of idiots who do them.

I'm just trying to work out who this troll was in a previous MSE life.

It really is a sad little troll going by its vacuous pronouncments.

It's probably one of Sunnyones AE's.

When you're a 'Billy' like Sunnyone, you have to invent friends to talk to.

  • Oh dear! Have we forgotten what is at stake here?
For the first time we had a meaningful debate, ok it wasn't what we would have ideally wished for, when the DWP and it's Misinformation arm is doing a roaring trade by feeding the Benefits Bashers and using them to introduce 'reforms' that will affect THEM to the extent that they will feel taken by the Goverment they so stupidly support.

  • I think it's an object lesson in what needs to happen for the the general public to get a grasp off.
We need all the political support, Twitter, Petitions,to MP's etc and we need the legal instruments, Judicial Review, Cases to be brought etc, all of which are threatened by a Government that wishes the Welfare State to be dismantled and destitution to reign.
