I had a 24 month blackberry pay monthly with virgin which finished in September , they couldn't offer me an upgrade on the phone I wanted , so I went somewhere else and got a better offer . Told virgin I was closing my account with them and was all up to date with payments and cancelled direct debit with them .
Still got a few letters saying I owed them money but when we contacted them , they said no it's fine , ignore any letters from us , account is deffo closed .
Had one letter a few days ago saying if I didn't pay , it would be refered to a debt collector  , phoned them up again and they said sorry you are in the clear , again ignore any letters ,
Now just had a look at my bank statement and I've been credited with some money into my account from virgin .
Why did they do this ? I don't want to spend it and them to phone up and say , where's our money ?

As you always pay for one month in advance, sometimes your account is in credit after cancelling the contract. According to MSE article, Virgin is one of companies that do automatic refunds: Reclaim phone credit: Have you switched providers?...
I am just guessing, not saying that this definitely was the case.0 -
Thanks for that link , that's more or less confirmed the reason why .The original janiebaby0
