A Safe Style salesman did the same thing to us. As it happened i actually needed new windows so he was there at my request. But when i got given the quote i told him i wasn't interested. He used all the usual tactics one would expect with a lot of these companys. The 'magic' phone call to get the price lowered always makes me laugh. I asked him questions like 'What is the soundproofing like?', obviously he told me what he knew i wanted to hear, turns out, our old Zenith windows were a lot more sound proof. He demonstrated heat loss with some gadget that he put on our existing windows, he took a reading then demonstrated the same thing with his 'sample' window inside my house, there would obviously be a better reading on his sample as both sides of the window were actually inside my dining room. (Watch that one).
I would get loads of prices if i ever needed replacement windows again (which i suspect won't actually be that long) I would never go anywhere near this company again.
When these salesman overstay their welcome people should just ask them to leave. If you don't they will just try and wear you down.0 -
Too right Sking plus really the upvc windows will last till they fall apart...I love the bit about showing you the difference in heat loss!!0

Hi there
We looked around for quotes. Safe style was cheapest & now I know why! We paid £2250 in total for 5 windows all with 2 openings (2 larger & 3 med). We had them installed yesterday. I had a few windows replaced in our old place & the quality of those far surpasses these. I do not believe we have received the product we saw & were sold. They do the old, 'this is our C rated & this is our A diamond range' & show the comparison. With the first guy we had round, my husband & I had called Safestyle & told them don't bother sending anyone with the hard sell. We got a guy that was desperate to get to the pub on a Friday night-so that worked out well! We only got another guy back as wanted more info & to change some of the opening designs (so we have large openings!) & reduce the price!
Since yesterday's install i have tried to call customer service 3 times last night & they were engaged, so I will be calling today about 'the quality' or rather lack of it.0 -
Ugh, Safestyle... their no-obligation quote consists of having a fat man that smells of cigarettes come round your house and not leave until you've sold your Grandmother to pay for the windows.

I asked Safestyle for quote to replace a patio door. The 'salesman' started to tell us all about their factory and reluctantly agreed to simply give us a price.
1st price over £3,000. A pretend 'phone call' got a reduction to £1,000 and an 'upgrade' to a 'better' quality.
We were happier with a local company's way of quoting and rang Safestyle to say we didn't want them.
Since then we have been pestered with constant phone calls by Safestyle.
They've been told the job has been done, asked not to call again.
They still call!
