Has anyone had the Eco Diamond double glazing from safe style UK? If so how much did it cost to have done and are they good?
I am considering having them done as the windows in the house I have just bought are 20 yrs old and don't keep the warmth in. Plus we are suffering from condensation particularly on one window on the inside. The windows are really cold to touch.
I have a 3 bedroom semi bungalow and I recon we will need 7 windows (1 bay) and 4 doors.
If anyone has got these then I would be very grateful for your feedback.
Thanks

OP there's nothing special about "Eco Diamond" any double glazed window/unit manufacturer can supply Argon gas filled units and even better are Krypton and Xenon filled units but they are very expensive.0

I personally wouldn't buy from Safestyle simply due to their attrocious advertising. I guess it must appeal to some folk though!

The commonly used inert gases in glazing are Argon, Krypton and Xenon. For the common air spaces, (16-20mm) Argon offers the best insulation properties. For the smaller cavities (8-12mm) Krypton may be used, offering better thermal insulation. However, the cost of Krypton and xenon proves to be prohibitive in most applications.
Most upvc windows now use 20mm cavity ie 4/20/4 unitsif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0 -
we had 3 quotes for a conservatory - a rated in energy conservation argon filled etc. We had 2 quotes from people with large showrooms- 24 K, and 24.5 K the third was from a local firm with a minute showroom, but with good recommendations from a neighbour. He took us to see a conservatory he had built very similar to the one we wanted. His quote was 17,500 but in addition he could do 4 bifold doors when the other firms quoted for french windows. - and low voltage lighting . It was completed 8 months ago and we have been delighted. You really do pay for flash showrooms and full time sales staff. Get a few quotes and ask them why theirs are superior systems- look at quality of window locks- what are the sills made of etc. good luck0

Hi silentotter
I did not want to upset anybody - but you get the drift from the threads above. I would never place an order with Safestyle. There are products as good, if not better, available at more realistic prices elsewhere.0 -
I personally wouldn't touch them. I've read numerous reviews where the installation was dire (and been told personally by friends etc). They have a very hard sell technique, which we have experienced personally. But the cherry on the cake, was earlier this month, I had to literally force one of there sales reps off my property, as he just wouldn't listen that we weren't interested. Then just over half an hour later our porch window is put through and a safestyle uk leaflet was left as a calling card.
This is just my experience, but make of it what you will.....My £2 savings total for 2007 = £92, for 2008 = £124
My savings from money off coupons for 2007 = £67.97, for 2008 = £194.79
My £2 savings for 2009 (so far) = £130
My savings from money off coupons for 2009 = £593.08

We had a salesman knock at our door today for Safestyle and he gave me a big speech about these new Eco Diamond windows and asked if a surveyor could come round later to offer a 'free no obligation quote'. Call me daft but we do actually need a new window in our bathroom so thought I'd get another quote off Safestyle to compare to a local company. Well I swear on my life I thought this man had, without invitation, moved into our house. 3 hours he was here for. 3 HOURS!!!!! On a Friday night. Even the phrases 'our dinner is ready' followed by 'it's now actually on the table' had no effect. He offered us a quote at £11k+ for 11 (large) windows. By the time he was leaving the house he had got this down to the slightly odd figure of £5595. Call me cynical but that seems a bit too convenient a figure to have got to through genuine percentage discounts. When I simply said 'thank you, if I'm interested I will call you' his face fell and his whole demeanour changed. I said 'I didn't wake up this morning and think that by the end of today I want to have bought windows so I'm not buying them now'. I'm waiting to be bombarded by phone calls so I'm just going to google how to request a change of phone number....be warned!!!!0

sounds a bit like Anglian - two hours in the house first quote £11.5k for only 7 windows - 2 very small and a front door!! Then suddenly it went down to £5600 and they wanted us to do their credit scheme 24% so if you signed up for wait for it 96 months!! you probably ended up paying £12k. You can guess we said we would think about it and probably never call back..0
