Going to lose holiday allocation - can anyone help please?

  • I have actually just seen proof that all of the allocation available was oversubscribed on every day since 1st October! As far as I can see, that means there has not actually been enough allocation to accommodate all employees hols, which means there is always going to be someone losing out.

Not sure I can use this info though!

That then frankly is just ridiculous management....

make sure you request that the holiday situation is sorted.

Tell management that if they won't allow you to request the time off they need to allocate it.

Get it in writing that they say you can't have your holiday.
  • Thanks for the replies again!

I'm not one for letting things lie so I'll certainly press on win getting it sorted.

DH works in a department that has access to the information and he has checked. It is something he looks at as part of his role so not doing anything wrong.

I'll speak first, just in case there is a chance they can sort it and if they can, great. If not, I'll put it in writing and if necessary, raise a grievance. I will also note dates/times of any conversations.
  • Statutory first.

I had a feeling this might be the case! Never mind, worth a shot.
