Releasing funds to pay for funeral
Comments

Do all executors have to agree to the funeral bill being paid from the frozen accounts?0
-
No the executors dont even have to be involved in the funeral arrangements. If executors believe the funeral was excessive or not what the deceased would want then they can reasonably ask that who ever organised the funeral to pay the costs over and above what they feel was a suitable figure but this is a rare occurrence.

It is my understanding that funeral expenses take precedence over any other charges on the estate of the deceased.0

I buried my Dad 4 months ago & sadly, now have to bury my Mum. I agree with the other comments that 5k is very expensive. Dads was about £2700 and nearly 2k for limo sounds very high unless it is the hearse & extra cars for family. I took the bill into Barclays bank & they paid Jennings direct. No problems. Hope all goes ok for you at this sad time.0

My Dads was 7.5k not including the wake. However this did include purchasing the cemetry plot but not the headstone. If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me0
