Orange Customer Services Abysmal

I have been trying to get in touch with Orange customer services for the past week or so. They have not responded to two emails though they claim to do so within 48 hours.
By far the worst is the customer services telephone line. I have phoned numerous times and every time I am told there is a very high volume of people calling and I will have to wait a very long time. I wait for some time but eventually have to put the phone down to save racking up a bill.
Has anyone here experienced the same problem? I have phoned on different days of the week and at different times of night. I have phoned late at night when you would expect few people trying to get through.
Do they actually have a customer services now? Is the telephone delay none-sense just designed to get people racking up bills for the new company EE.??

Well, I do not believe it. Called the phone line (9.30pm) and was answered almost immediately. Even more amazing the advisor was a home-grown lass. Problem sorted within a minute (it was a billing problem). If only it was this easy all the time. If only.0
