A good complaint reason is that you had a good wedge in the bank so you did not need their ppi.
Yes, it's an excellent reason as it is valid and verifiable.
Unfortunately, not many actually have such a "wedge" or they likely wouldn't be seeking a loan or credit card in the first place.
Why on earth were you looking for credit (let alone payment insurance) with £50,000 in the Bank ?

Its a bit of a long story, but here we go.

My dad had an affair with someone and left my mum, my mum got £60k from the house as it was sold from underneath her she did not have anywhere to go except my nanas. However because she had the money the council said that if she moved in with my nana then my nan would have 2pay rent etc and lose here winter heating thing and council tax credits and stuff, my nan was 78 at the time and my mum 51. My mum did not have enough to buy a house and was told old and did not earn enough to get a mortgage.

So she gave the money 2 me 2 invest, i was in full time employment with no kids and did not have any benefits 2 lose. I invested it and it made good money and after my nan passed away i gave it all back to my mum.

Payed capital gains tax on it but it worked out good for my mum, and me to by the looks of it now. I had it for about 10 years i suppose.

    Thing is,

A lot of people that come on here have no complaint really. They are just trying it on to see what they can get and seeif they can get lucky.

You need a reason to complain.

This is perfectly obvious from some of the posts.

    So now onto Barlclaycard then.

I have got copies of my statements from Barclays from 2006-2010.

Thing is it shows Morgan Stanley, Goldfish and then Barclaycard. Who should I write to about this?

I guess it was all fronted by Barclaycard/Barclays?

I also had cards with the halifax and MBNA during this time. However the MBNA will be interesting, as I had a phone call from them 2009 asking if I was aware of the ppi policy on my credit card, to which I replied no, he then asked if I had moved house recently or had a baby and I had done both he then encouraged me to claim on the ppi as it covers these things, think I got about £800 for both claims.

It was missold though as I had the £50k still in the bank when I took the card out as well. What happens in that situation?

I doubt you'll get far with the MBNA then as you've already complained about that.
With Barclays, it's probably whoever owned the card when you finished using it, as they will have taken on the liability for it.

Send your complaint to Barclaycard, they deal with the complaints for ex-Morgan Stanley cards

So he can still complain about the mis-selling, but any redress will be minus the £800.

A bit of Background, New Poster.

I started my complaint with Barclaycard in may 2011, I asked for a copy of my terms and conidtions which claerly showed that the box was pre printed (it was a leaflet that was posted to me, which is why i didn't have a copy) and that the policy wasn't signed for seperatley. The policy didn't have my signature or date on. at this time i also tryed to cancel the ppi which was still on the account this took 4 months 3 letters and several phone calls. So I sent the very useful ppi questionaire in (from this site) on 26 may2011. i than got 4 letters back from them over 3 months saying they were snowed under each from a diffrernt person and department, eventually they sent me a letter end of September 2011 to say i did not have a complaint and that i had ticked the box. So i decided to take this to the ombudsman in October 2011. after several update letters from the ombudsman with updates that they are very busy, i fianlly got a letter on 6 november 2012 to say that this is there initial assesment which is to uphold my complaint (on several points) and that Barclays have until the 26th November 2012 to responde to the ombudsman and put me in a poisition i would have been in. This hasn't happend, it is now nearly 8 weeks past that date and i am just wondering what happens next. looking at the letter to Barclays i think it now go's to a full ombudsman, is the decision likely to be the same? how long it that likely to take? I think Barcalys my be stalling as i have had this barclaycard since 1999 and be naughty and had quite a high balance for a long time. I have all the statements and some of the ppi was upto £99 per month. another wuestion how do i work out what i should get?
    Thank you for any help
