I have seen a Fiesta at a Ford dealer that I woukd like to purchase. I have been able to negotiate the price down £8000 to £7500.

It's 2010 - 11m ford fiesta. I am looking to purchase extended 3year warranty £890.

I was thinking of asking 4 a full tank of petrol. I already have floor mats from my old car. What else can I ask/negotiate for? Do I automatically get nectar points fir a used car purchase?

Ask them why there are 2012 plate cars in the autotrader for less than £7000.

A couple for less than £6000. Under 10,000 miles also.

Some of these are from Ford Dealers also, So not just backstreet garages.

Yes you are right. Thanks to everyone one here I realise I need to be more careful. I am now looking to spend the same money with a nearly new car with 3 years already included because its under 3 years old.

Had an argument with dealer as he is shipping over a ford car that I like £8500 under a year with about 3k on clock. He says I must take out their finance @7-10% & 1 year warranty as he is transferring car from another of their branches. I said I never agreed to finance and I an still deciding if to now take the 1 year warranty for £400!!

Do you think should take out the £400 one year warranty for clutch, engine and electronics. The dealer says tht us what the warranty covers.

Drivethedeal Brand new Fiesta 5dr 1.2 Zetec £10,176 which will come with a 3 year warranty and no MOTs for 3 years, tyres that will last a couple of years, an exhaust that will not need replaced, brakes that should last 3 years and no need to change a cambelt for 3-5 years (all of which will not be covered by any warranty).

You seriously need to do the sums.

My car I have chosen is Ford Fiesta 2012 (62) £8,500

Ford dealer has an Experien HP check certificate plus they have just done a mechanical service which they have stamped the service book. Would I need to still pay AA or RAC to do a HP check and mechanical check?

  • Can't comment on the cost of the car itself but you could ask for extras such as a full tanks of fuel like you said and/or years worth of car tax if it needs to be renewed or scotch guard to protect the seats.
