Virgin Money ISA

Hi
My old Northern Rock cash ISA is maturing and I want to transfer to a new provider. I have their transfer form in front of me to complete and close the Virgin account. However I'm danmed if I can find the sort code and account number of my Virgin account in any of the documentation I have from Northern Rock or Virgin Money. Its almost like they want to make it difficult to transfer away from them!
I tried calling customer services of my new provider but they were useless and just questioned why I don't have that info. Hmmm not a good start with them but I'll let that slip.
Virgin customer services are closed until tomorrow and I would rather not sit on an 0845 number if possible just to know something as simple as this.
I have been able to find how to transfer money into their ISAs using sort codes 08-61-15 and 00000515 plus the roll number (i.e 12345N-12345) so would I be right in assuming its the same for transferring out?
Has anybody else had to find this info too and can share it with me?

Your new provider wouldn't know the details your existing account unless you told them. They aren't useless, they can't help in this case.
Neither will anyone on an Internet Forum know your ISA account details.
If you do not have the information yourself, you need to get it from Virgin. Your account details will with 100% certainty be different to the details to be used to transfer an ISA into Virgin.
Have you tried http://www.saynoto0870.com/companysearch.php for a cheaper number for Virgin?0 -
You can get Virgin to call you back for free! Do you have online access? You sign in then select "Lets talk" near the top left of the screen. I've always had a call within 10 minutes of asking.Sealed Pot Challenge #239

There probably isn't a sort code and account number. But you only need the roll number. It's not like the new provider is going to suck the money out of your account. They just send a form to the old provider telling the old provider to send it (which it might do by posting a cheque)."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0

The sort code and account number should be the same for all ISA accounts at Virgin Money. Its my roll number/reference/ISA account number that differentiates between ISA accounts and is only know to me and Virgin. That is not what I asked for here. They will have certainly received other transfers from Virgin and should know the common details but the CS rep WAS quite unhelpful and just kept saying I must have this info on paperwork. I clearly don't or wouldn't be calling. All I was asking was if they could look it up but it just got the same reply. If they had said they couldn't look it up I would have understood but to not answer the question 3 times annoyed me so I gave up. Bad CS in anybody's book.
I already looked on saynoto0870 and their 0845 numer doesn't have an equivalent.
Getting Virgin to call me is a great idea. Thanks.
Sadly the CS said it must be filled out in full with sort code account number and reference/roll number or they will return the form to me.
I'll speak to Virgin tomorrow. Thanks all.0 -

I found virgin very selective and misleading when my Northern Rock isa ended. They only offered their own products or close your isa (and loose isa status) as options. I viewed this as dishonest behavior which is unwelcome from a bank.
I had to contact them by phone to find out how to move to another provider. If you do nothing your isa becomes an instant access isa with a low interest rate from where your new isa provider can access your money. Its almost like they want to make it difficult to transfer away from them!0 -
Here's the conclusion for anybody wanting this info in the future.
After speaking to Virgin Money this morning, they told me to ignore the boxes for sort code and account on the transfer form and to just put the 12 character account reference (they call it account no. on their letters) in the roll number box.
It was an easy and quick call so I'm not sure why my new provider said they will return it if not completed fully. But then again Virgin could have made it clear in their guidance for transferring to another provider.
The form is in the post now so I just have to wait for the transfer to be actioned.
Thanks all0
