PAC is used for porting between networks, not within the same network.

Not all networks do this, but O2 transfer numbers within their network. So just buy a new contract and then contact O2 to switch the old number to PAYG, then... Transfer your number

If your simplicity is PAYG, you can transfer without switching.

You can try asking them first to transfer directly from pay monthly to pay monthly.

O2 will move your number without having to move to PAYG. Just call up and explain you want to move your number.
