AOL takes three months to cancel broadband agreement

Three months ago I asked AOL to cancel my broadband service agreement “with immediate effect” after I moved home and subscribed to BT broadband.

They wrote back to say that since my billing date is 24th of every month and that I have already paid up to that date I should continue using the service and then contact member services 72 hours before my next bill date. Since I was not using their service I asked them again to cancel with immediate effect. I also phoned them.

Apparently they have not cancelled and they continued to collect my subscription. Today I wrote to them saying I’ll issue a county court claim to get back the funds they fraudulently collected from my bank account. Within an hour they cancelled the agreement but they have refused to refund me the money they collected from my bank since the date I asked them to cancel the agreement.

Any suggestions as to how I can get my refunds for over £75 they have collected from my bank account?
