Help getting good virgin/ other deal for highish use
Options
Hoping someone can advise me!
Am out of contract with orange, have regularly been going over my minutes (300) so am looking for a good deal on minimum 600 mins and lots of texts, 500mb data or more.
Hearing lots about people getting good virgin deals for either £10 a month for pretty much unlimited with galaxy ace, or sim only for similar deal for £5.99. I rang virgin as I'm a home ans broadband etc customer but only got as far as Indian call centre and no offers which seemed good enough.
So any tips on getting a great deal from them. As we pay a ridiculous amount (nearly £90) a month for the home package I think they should reward my loyalty!

I've been looking at Virgin as they have a 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and 1Gb of data for £12 a month:

You need to have a phone already, but this looks one of the best deals on the market and it's cheaper to buy a phone separately I think.LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

What you need to do is ask to speak to their retentions team ( based in the UK), dont go via SALES dept as they will only offer whats on the website without taking in to account loyalty etc.
Be persistent as its difficult to get them to put you through. however once through to retentions team, have all your facts ready: what you could get if you went with another provider (on mobile), state you have home and broadband with them and would like to add mobile if they make it attractive, blah blah
..........that should get you a discount for loyalty.
Good luck
i'm on their SIM only , monthly rolling contract:
£12 (1200 mins, unltd text and 1gb data) discounted to £10 for loyalty, for as long as I want it. I provided my own phone , but they offered some sort of blackberry in the deal, which I wasnt interested in.
I didnt play hard, so dont know if i could have got it even cheaper.
I was happy to pay £10 a month, I feel Ive got a good deal. I was prepared to pay £10-£15 p/mth with other providers, so im content and they, virgin retained a customer. Everyones happy0 -
Thanks, graspandsave, I phoned the retentions team yesterday and they put me through to the call centre abroad! I will try again tomorrow. That tariff is the one I'm looking for but friends have been getting it sim only for £6 or with a decent phone for £10.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
