Problem with wireless adapter

I have gone wireless and have bought a wireless adapter for my old computer. The adapter goes into the usb port and it came with a tiny cd which I cannot run on my computer. The instructions say to run the cd and install the driver. Do you think I should return it and if so what type of wireless adapter should I buy. The one I have is a 802.11n 150 Mbs.
Was also wondering if there is a wesite where I can download a driver for it - the make of the adapter is Ralink
Would appreciate any help before I give up and return the adapter

Bung it in and Windows will find the driver for you.

If you can still connect using Ethernet or phone try looking for the suppliers website where you may find the drivers to suit your operating system (if your operating system is unable to find it automatically).

Have tried that but Windows cant find it.

Are you sure that the mini CD wont work? Have you tried actually placing it in the drive?

Were you connected to the internet when you tried to install it, and which version of windows do you have. Small CDs fit standard CD drives.

Have tried cd in the drive quite a few times - will try a normal cd to check to see if the player is actually working.
